Urotate is currently in development. While generation is not yet open to the public, the only way to receive Tokens is by making a voluntary donation that supports the project. This policy covers both donations (available now) and direct Token purchases (once generation launches).
Donations and gifted Tokens
A donation to Urotate is a voluntary contribution to support development, not a purchase. For that reason, donations are non-refundable.
The Tokens we add to your balance as a thank-you for donating are a free gift: they are provided at no charge, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are non-transferable. Because they are free, gifted Tokens are not refundable. They are credited to your balance and become spendable when generation launches, subject to the expiry below.
Token purchases (once generation launches)
When you can buy Tokens directly to pay for generation, the terms in this section apply to those paid purchases only — not to donations or gifted Tokens.
You may request a refund on a Token purchase within seven (7) days of that purchase, provided none of the Tokens from that purchase have been used. Once any Token from a purchase has been spent on a scan, that purchase is no longer eligible for a refund.
Approved refunds are subject to a service fee of up to 6% of the original purchase amount, where permitted by law, to cover payment-processing costs already incurred.
If a scan comes out wrong
Separately from the refund window above: if a delivered scan doesn't meet the quality we advertise — missing geometry, broken textures, or a result that doesn't reflect the real product — tell us within 7 days of delivery and we'll re-scan or re-process it at no extra Token cost, regardless of the refund window.
Token expiration
Tokens — whether gifted through a donation or bought directly — are valid for 120 days (counted from the launch date for Tokens received before launch, otherwise from the date received); unused Tokens expire at the end of that window. See our Terms of Service for the full Token terms. Expired Tokens are not refundable.
EEA and UK customers
This section applies to paid Token purchases, not to voluntary donations. If you are a consumer resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from a Token purchase within 14 days of the purchase without giving a reason. Because Tokens are digital content, this withdrawal right ends as soon as you start using Tokens from that purchase. If you withdraw after using some Tokens, you'll be charged for the Tokens already used and refunded the rest. Where this section gives you stronger rights than the standard refund window above, this section applies instead.
Not eligible for refund
- Donations, and any Tokens gifted as a thank-you for donating.
- Any portion of a Token purchase already used on a scan.
- Requests made more than 7 days after the purchase (outside the EEA/UK).
- Issues caused by an inaccurate or incomplete product description or reference provided by you.
How refunds are issued
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Stripe, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
